D2 Garage, inc. (hereinafter “D2G”) engages in diverse businesses to contribute to Hokkaido’s economic development, centering in the three areas of seed accelerator programs, business incubation, and marketing.

In running these businesses, D2G acquires personal information from customers. In handling personal information, D2G duly recognizes the importance of privacy protection; abides by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, regulations, and standards; and pays utmost care to properly managing the personal information it has acquired. D2G’s view on privacy is described in the following items that we are determined to implement firmly.

D2G defines “personal information” as “the name, address, date of birth, profession, and other descriptions of a living individual; numbers, symbols, and other codes that are given to the individual; and images and voices that can identify the individual (including data that may not directly identify the individual but may be used to identify the individual by cross-checking it with other data).

When acquiring personal information, D2G will clearly state the purpose of use in advance and acquire personal information in a lawful and fair manner, and will not use such personal information other than for the stated purpose. The purpose of use is described in “Handling Personal Information.” The customer’s prior consent shall be obtained before using their personal information other than for the purpose of use. D2G will not acquire personal information concerning race, ethnicity, family line, family status, birthplace, permanent domicile, religion, political views, labor union membership, or the sexual life of the individual, or other information that could cause unfair discrimination (including but not limited to “Special care-required personal Information” specified in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information).

D2G will not provide acquired personal information to any third party without the prior consent of the individual. However, in the cases where D2G is asked to submit the customer’s personal information in accordance with a law or regulation by a court, Public Prosecutors Office, or other law enforcement agency, D2G may submit such information.

To properly store and manage personal information, D2G will create internal rules on the handling of personal information, and have all officers, employees, temporary staff, etc. (hereinafter "Employees") abide by these rules.

D2G implements security measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal information acquired from customers, and to prevent the loss, leakage, destruction, damage, etc. of personal information. D2G periodically reviews these security measures and makes revisions and improvements as necessary.

In cases where personal information handling is outsourced, D2G will select a contractor who meets the appropriate standards regarding the safe management of personal information, conclude an outsourcing agreement for personal information handling with the contractor, and thoroughly supervise and direct the contractor.

Furthermore, in cases where the customer would like to check, revise, or delete their personal information, the customer must contact us as specified below. Upon confirmation that the actual subject of the personal information is contacting D2G, D2G will accept the request to a reasonable extent. This procedure is necessary to prevent falsification by third parties.
